The MiningBrines project is recruiting 19 Doctoral Candidates (PhD positions) across Europe within the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Doctoral Network.
MiningBrines develops innovative and sustainable solutions for the recovery of critical raw materials, energy gases, and geothermal energy from geothermal brines. The project adopts a strongly multidisciplinary approach, integrating geosciences, biogeochemistry, petrophysics, artificial intelligence, and socio-economic analysis to tackle key challenges of the energy transition and Europe’s resource independence.
As a PhD candidate, you will:
- Join an international and interdisciplinary research network
- Combine field investigations, laboratory analyses, and numerical modeling
- Gain advanced skills in geological reconstruction, petrophysical and geochemical investigations, reservoir modelling, machine learning, big data analytics, and societal sciences
- Benefit from secondments at leading research institutions and industry partners
- Contribute to cutting-edge solutions for sustainable resource recovery
Positions are hosted by multiple institutions across Europe.
