Students interested in developing a career in geosciences and mineral resource exploration are invited to apply for the TIMREX – Master in Mineral Exploration, an international joint master’s programme focused on innovative approaches to mineral exploration.
TIMREX is an EIT-Labelled programme within the EIT RawMaterials Academy, a European network that connects leading universities, research institutions and industry partners in the raw materials sector. The programme is designed to educate the next generation of specialists capable of addressing global challenges related to the sustainable supply of raw materials.
The programme lasts 24 months (120 ECTS) and is fully taught in English. It combines a strong theoretical background with extensive fieldwork, advanced exploration technologies, and practical training, allowing students to gain hands-on experience in mineral exploration and resource evaluation.
Key features of the programme include:
- advanced methods for mineral resource exploration
- integration of field, laboratory and geoscientific data
- application of specialised software tools for data processing and interpretation
- development of innovation, entrepreneurship and problem-solving skills
- international mobility, enabling students to study at different partner universities.
The programme is delivered by a consortium of leading European universities:
- University of Miskolc (Hungary)
- University of Zagreb – Faculty of Mining, Geology and Petroleum Engineering (Croatia)
- Wrocław University of Science and Technology (Poland)
- Luleå University of Technology (Sweden)
Depending on the selected study pathway, students may obtain a double Master of Science degree from participating universities together with the EIT Label Certificate.
The programme is intended for candidates holding a Bachelor’s degree in geology, geophysics, earth sciences, geoscience engineering, or mining engineering, as well as proof of English language proficiency (minimum B2 level).
