For almost a hundred years the Faculty of Mining, Geology and Petroleum Engineering has been educating competent experts and conducting high quality scientific and professional research in the field of mining engineering, geology and geological engineering, and petroleum engineering according to social and economic circumstances. The development of the aforementioned professions in Croatia has greatly depended on the activities of the Faculty, while its employees have continuously contributed to the prosperity of their professions and the society as a whole.
‘The Development Strategy of the Faculty of Mining, Geology and Petroleum Engineering of the University of Zagreb for the period 2012–2016’, adopted at the meeting of the Faculty Council, held on October 21, 2011, describes all activities necessary to implement the vision of the Faculty, i.e. to act as an equal partner of the European Higher Education Area and the European Research Area. In addition to general and special goals, tasks and success indicators in segments of teaching, scientific research, professional work, quality assurance system and resource development, the aforementioned document defines persons and bodies responsible for carrying out certain activities, deadlines for carrying out tasks and meeting goals, documents that need to be prepared and their implementation ensured, and operational plans for carrying out activities for the next academic year.
